I hope this finds you and your family doing well in the season we're in. I know you're getting tons of emails right now so I want to keep this one short and sweet.

How is the real estate market? It's hard to say what exactly will unfold until some more time has passed but this is what I'm seeing locally now: Some homes are going under contract a little bit slower but buyers who need to buy are still seeing homes and making offers, and new homes are still coming on the market. As a matter of fact, this past week, I listed a home for $375,000 in the Rivermont section of Newport News and it went under contract $10k over list price the 2nd day on the market. And the people who bought that home are going to be selling theirs in the next few months. Then take the seller who's getting out of the military and moving out of state, her home is going on the market end of this week. Real estate continues to progress. Speaking of progres, here's an article from the National Association or Realtors' Chief Economist: https://magazine.realtor/daily-news/2020/03/30/february-pending-sales-reveal-healthy-housing-demand

Should I buy a home now? If your employment is steady, absolutely take advantage of the historically low rates! If you're employment is unsteady at the moment, you should wait until you're comfortable with your job security.
Here's an article about mortage interest rates during this time: https://newtownemortgage.com/blog/whats-going-on-in-the-mortgage-industry-are-rates-at-zero
I am continuing to work with all types of clients for buying and selling, safely of course and at a social distance, so if there's anything I can do for you, please let me know! I'd be happy to talk!
